How Can I Study Online With a 9-5 Job?

Many people who take up online degree courses in an online school already have a full time job. Studying in an online school while holding a full time job is not easy, to say the least.
One of the biggest challenges is actually finding the time to study and take classes in the online school. However studying in an online school is much easier than having to attend regular classes at a college or university the reason being that classes in the online school are flexible and you get to study at your own pace. This means that you don’t have to worry about being left behind in the onloine school and having to play ‘catch up’ to the rest of the class every time your employer has you working late. I present to you some tips that you may find useful:
- Realize the importance of attending class: this can be used especially for those who never really have the time to turn on their computer to attend classes regularly in the online school. The principle of this technique is that you always have the time but you never really make the right adjustments to have the time to study. You need to realize just how important attending classes in your online school are to your betterment. Many successful people today have managed to attend classes in their online school even while holding two jobs. The technique is to make a time table and study as much as you can when you are free, to enable you meet up with others in your online school.
- If you’re travelling a lot, use that commute time. People who travel a lot say that they can never find the time to study, even though they attend an online school. The truth is that there is a lot of time to study and even attend classes in your online school while you are in transit to your destination. There are many airports and subway stations that have wifi hotspot connections and all you need to do while you are waiting to arrive is to turn on your computer and connect to your online school. With classes in the online school, you don’t need to worry about just how long you attend class, the idea here is to get as much done as you can to meet up with your online school, with any little opportunity you have.
- Study a bit once you return home. If you are working a 9-5 job you probably have a lot of time after you return from work and before you go to bed. Usually just a few hours of attending a class in your online school will suffice, you can also make up for your loss by attending classes in your online school on weekends. The key is to manage your time wisely and making sure that you get enough rest in between as well so that your mind remains fresh. There are a number of people who sacrifice their sleep to study which might be fine occasionally but in the long run this approach is not beneficial.
- Sleep early and wake up early. Another approach is to sleep early at night and wake up early in the morning to attend your online school before you go to work. The good thing about this approach is that when you wake up your mind is in a state of alertness so it can pickup more the subjects you’re taught in the online school. So even if you study less in the morning your retention is going to be more than if you studied at some other time. This approach ensures that you also have enough time to get home from the online school and work and attend to your family.
