Study for Free
While hardly the same as an accredited, institutionalized program at a well-known university, there are plenty of free, good learning resources available online for those who wish to pursue further education. As with any learning you do, the value is in what you get out of it. Don’t expect any recognition for taking free online courses!
Here’s a list of some of the ones we like:

- Connections Academy has elementary-school, middle-school, and high-school-level courses. They’re accredited by CITA (the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation), and alleviate some of the problems of online schools (such as having field-trips, group meet-ups, and group projects for peer interaction), and they physically ship you materials; unfortunately, they’re only available for US participants (because they match local regulations and standards).
- Free-Ed.Net touts itself as a free online school; they certainly have dozens of courses available on topics from fine-arts to databases.
